Governance process
Book Editors are appointed by the Editorial Board of SWBCommunity.org. The responsibilities of the Editors include:
- Designing the table of contents, with the goal of comprehensive and systematic coverage.
- Creating a stub for each section and then recruiting Authors qualified by way of expertise and experience to author that section.
- Insuring that chapters conform to the scope and policies, and insuring that appropriate modifications are made in response to reviews.
- Insuring the intellectual quality and accuracy of chapters, exercising their own judgment and also recruiting qualified reviewers.
- Coordinating the efforts of Authors, especially across different chapers.
- Copy editing chapters for spelling and grammar (this may also be delegated to volunteer Copy Editors).
- Insuring that chapters are appropriately categorized.
Policies
The table of contents and organization of this book are determined at the sole discretion of the Editors, who will of course duly consider the suggestions and comments of all members of the community.
Only Editors and Authors designated by Editors are allowed to directly create and edit sections. Members of the community are encouraged to comment on sections (using the discussion pages provided for that purpose), and Editors and Authors will duly consider these suggestions and comments.
