Sysop requests

Please add tasks you would like to request from sysops, and order from highest priority (first) to lowest priority (last). Also indicate why your added task may be useful or needed.

Pending

  1. I moved the "People" page to Members of the community, as I think this is more specific. Please redirect the "People" menu item to this new page and delete the People redirect page. Dave 15:48, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
  2. I haven't figured out how to make CategoryTree display more than the top nodes. The "depth" parameter does not seem to work. Can you figure this out for us? Dave 15:50, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
  3. Please add instructions to the Uploading and posting a file page. Dave 21:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC) (Olli please address that in the Help section).
  4. Printing pages: when a page is printed, all the headers and footers are included. Is there any way to print just the content? Dave 00:20, 9 May 2008 (UTC) (< - - in the works)

  1. I added a placeholder for feedback email on the Main page. We need to give people an email address to contact us, while obfuscating it to avoid spam. Can you take care of that? Dave 16:04, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
  2. It would be awesome to embed slide shows from http://www.slideshare.net and videos from http://youtube.com on our pages. See Sysop Testing ground for an example. If so, create an instruction? Dave 23:52, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
  3. I would like to add some chapters to the book, but dont know how to manipulate the XML files. Please advise. Dave 19:34, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
  4. Add extensions that allow us to query unions, intersections, complements, etc. of categories. This should work in conjunction with CategoryTree so that we create pages with various ways to look at categories. Dave 14:22, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

If the sysops refuse or defer a task until later, the task will be moved here with a note to the original requester communicating the justifications. Once the requester has absorbed this information, if he or she would like to drop the request, this can be done by deleting the task from this section.

  9. In the section Organizations, there is a job posting section. Please post our SBF postoc position, and any others in SBL. Dave 16:29, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
