VTT produces research services that enhance the international competitiveness of companies, society and other customers at the most important stages of their innovation process, and thereby creates the prerequisites for growth, employment and wellbeing.

VTT promotes the realisation of innovative solutions and new businesses by foreseeing already in the strategic research stage the future needs of its customers. VTT creatively combines its multidisciplinary expertise with the know-how of its partners. VTT also exploits global networking and the basic research results of universities in its services.


Relationship to software business

VTT helps customers take advantage of the fast development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and of electronics. Our high quality global service and expertise cover the valuable chains of the entire information industry: semiconductor materials, manufacturing of microchips, as well as the design of electrical and optical components and circuits based on microelectronics, micro-mechanical sensors and systems and information networks. Also, service platforms, services, information systems and media and support technology for content are covered.

We help our customer to anticipate technology developments and business needs by creatively combining VTT’s own technology with our partners’ expertise. We also take advantage of basic research results conducted by universities and our global networks.

Besides having competencies on ICT and electronics development VTT also helps its customers and partners to create business from technology.
