Editorial Board
The Editorial Board has overall responsibility for the governance of SWBCommunity.org. The Board is chosen with geographical and disciplinary diversity in mind, with members chosen to be both well respected as well as knowledgeable and experienced in the field of software business. During this startup phase of the community, the Board is still being recruited. The number of members is not determined, but six is probably about right.
The responsibility of the Editorial Board include the following:
- Set all policies, such as the copyright licensing.
- Manage the plan and determine the overall direction.
- Appoint all Editors, and remove Editors when justified by inactivity or poor performance or inappropriate behavior.
- Recruit additional and successor members of the Editorial Board when necessary or appropriate.
- Insure continuity of the community by obtaining necessary funding for hosting and hiring Sysops.
- Appoint Sysops, and remove and replace Sysops when justifed.
- Listen to the complaints and ideas of the Members of the community in performing these functions.
The Editorial Board currently has the following members, in alphbetical order:
- David G. Messerschmitt, University of California at Berkeley and Helsinki University of Technology.
